Effective August 14, Senate Bill 3398 (Public Act 100-0894) amended the Limited Liability Company and Professional LLC Acts to permit conversions of LLCs to professional LLCs with no filing fee and to require the name of a professional LLC to contain “PLLC”. Certificates of registration are to expire on January 1, 2019 and on January 1 of every third year thereafter for professional LLCs, professional service corporations and medical corporations.
